New education model brings together the best of VET, industry and higher education.

A partnership between TAFE NSW and the NSW Department of Education will see the delivery of two pilots of the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) focused on critical and emerging skills:
· Institute of Applied Technology for Digital Technology at Meadowbank
· Institute of Applied Technology for Construction at Kingswood/Nepean
The IAT delivers relevant, current and transferable training matched to current and future workforce needs. Students will have access to Microskills and Microcredentials, which are recognised by our education and industry partners. This new and innovative education model will enable seamless student journeys – blending the best of higher education and vocational education with industry collaboration.
TAFE NSW is leading the delivery of the two IAT pilots with education and industry partners. Each institute will have key industry partners working alongside TAFE NSW and universities to build exciting curriculum that includes Microskills and Microcredentials. Microsoft, University of Technology Sydney, Macquarie University and TAFE NSW will be delivering the IAT Digital. CPB Contractors, Western Sydney University and TAFE NSW will be delivering the IAT Construction.
The IAT Digital will deliver training programs with an initial focus on signature digital disciplines of cyber security, big analytics, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Microsoft is the lead industry partner for the IAT Digital. The new campus at the IAT Digital is tailored for students to learn flexibly and practically, with break out spaces and the latest technology supplementing market leading curriculum and partnerships.
The IAT Construction will be a modern training hub that will provide training and qualifications to upskill construction workers to build the cities of the future. CPB Contractors is the lead industry partner for the IAT Construction.
